Gerroa is yet another incredible part of our southern stretch of coast. The rolling green hills, perfect sunrises, uncrowded surf breaks, nearby waterfalls and crystal clear coves. We had special experience while visiting the area, staying at the laid back Discovery Holiday Park, set right on the banks of the pristine Crooked River.
We were lucky enough to stay in one of the Deluxe Riverside Villas. The beautiful timber deck overlooking the river made our stay a special one. Its fun watching the tides of the Crooked River rapidly change. One minute we were diving through deep water and the next we are walking out to the middle staring down the centre of waterway. Nature likes to fascinate us, and we like that.
We spent our morning lazing around the river, swimming and relaxing. We wandered down to the beach at the end of our road and swam in the crystal clear waters of the inlet, followed by an afternoon surfing the perfect peeling waves of Seven Mile Beach. All of this topped off with a vibrant sunset over the rugged mountains which hug the coastline. We were left feeling pretty lucky. To top off a great day we cooked dinner on our deck BBQ at our villa, overlooking the moonlit Crooked River.
We woke up before the sun and took a walk along the Crooked River. The sun finally came up and we were in our element at golden hour. The day ahead was looking beautiful and we were up for another adventure.
We took a drive out to Macquarie Pass National Park where we went on an incredible hike along the rainforest stream to a series of cascading waterfalls. We even had the place to ourselves. We felt far away from the rest of the world and spent hours soaking it all up.
We are looking forward to our next stay in Gerroa. Thanks Discovery Parks for another epic trip.
