We recently ventured on a journey of new discoveries in a campervan, travelling along the East Coast of Aus, from Sydney to the Sunshine Coast. It was the best summer of our lives and we found some incredible places and made some unforgettable memories of a lifetime.

Here are our tips and favourite spots for the perfect Aussie East Coast summer road trip


Port Stephens
Our tips
1. Watch the sunrise from Gan Gan Lookout
2. Walk to the spit at Fingal Beach for a swim in crystal clear water
3. Hike to the top of Tomaree Headland
4. Cook breakfast on the grassy banks of Shoal Bay
5. Do a sunset camel ride at Birubi Beach
6. Walk the sand dunes of Birubi Beach
7. Watch the live music in Nelson Bay at Marinas D’Albora



 Seal Rocks
Our tips
1. Visit Lighthouse Beach
2. Have coffee at the Single Fin van on the headland looking out to Seal Rocks
3. Keep an eye out for the peace signs painted along the road



Our tips
1. Hike Booti Booti National Park from Seven Mile Beach to Elizabeth Beach
2. Swim to the sand banks of Wallis Lake
3. Pull your van up on the shores at Sunset Picnic on Wallis Lake for sunset drinks
4. Get fish and chips at Pacific Palms shopping area
5. Watch the sunrise at Red Head beach – keep your eyes out for dolphins
6. Surf Red Head beach
7. Have breakfast and coffee at Tartt cafe on Wharf street
8. Head inland to see one the tallest single drop waterfalls in Australia, Ellenborough Falls


Bellingen & Dorrigo National Park
Our tips
1. Take the drive to Dangar Falls up the Waterfall Way, passing many roadside waterfalls and picturesque views over the valley
2. Take the lush rainforest hike in Dorrigo National Park leading you to two beautiful waterfalls – Crystal Shower Falls, Tristania Falls
3. Check out the Dorrigo Skywalk – beautiful views over the Belliger Valley all the way to the coast 4. Have lunch in Bellingen – This artistic and unique town offers plenty of cafes and quirky shops. Our favourite lunch spot was the Tuckshop
